Master Sock Embroidery with the Bernina Sock Hoop

Bernina introduced the Sock Hoop Inserts this summer, and we're excited to show you how they work! These inserts fit your medium hoop, which already comes with the machine, making sock embroidery easier than ever. Today, we’re stitching on the Bernina 990.

Why the 990 is Perfect for Sock Embroidery
• Large embroidery screen for easy design placement
• Pinpoint placement for accurate stitching
• Beautiful built-in designs for accurate stitching
We chose a fun little banana from the Mini designs folder for this project!

Sock Hoop Insert Sizes
• Mini: great for super small designs or monograms
• Standard: better for larger designs or when designs can't be scaled down much

Stabilizer Tips
We recommend a sticky option such as:
✅ Floriani Wet N Gone Tacky
✅ OESD AquaMesh Plus
Why? Socks tend to pop out of the hoop as you stitch and sticky stabilizer keeps them in place. After trimming, any leftover stabilizer will dissolve in the wash—no scratchy feeling.

Sock embroidery is quick, fun, and makes a great personalized gift for schools, teams, clubs, or just for yourself. Stitch, rehoop, and add as many designs as you’d like.
