Sewing Thread Basics: Weights, Types & When to Use Them

Choosing the right thread can make a big difference in your sewing, but with so many weights and types available, it can be hard to know what you actually need. Today, Mary walks through some of the most common threads we use in the store, including when to use 100-weight polyester, 50-weight cotton, and other specialty threads.

We'll also go over how to wind and properly insert a bobbin, thread your machine, and use a needle threader, plus explain why we like using 50-weight cotton thread on our floor model machines.
